W.T.F Is Coping?!

Just recently I was talking to a coworker of mine.

We were talking about some of our goals for the near future, and as he was speaking to me I couldn’t help but acknowledge the true value of what he was saying. I came to a realization, and told him this year is pivotal for a lot of people. I call them the dream chasers and visionaries.

¬† ¬† ¬†For those of us who see where we want to go in life, this year has been a time for pursuing endeavors and making new mistakes. This year a lot of people have been heading in the right direction for the lives they’d like to lead. While I’ve been working hard to steer myself in the right direction too, I met someone this year who has inspired me beyond capacity.

¬† ¬† His name is Zachary Beck, but is known by most as the artist Futuristic. I first saw this man only a few months ago. He was on stage at Empire in VA; hopping all around, rapping, and spraying water on everyone¬†in the crowd. I wasn’t too impressed at first. Some pop up on the scene rapper throwing water and acting a fool? No I’ll pass; but the more I listened and watched, the more I realized this dude really has a style of his own.

¬† ¬† ¬†He’s passionate about what he does, he knows how to interact with a crowd, and most importantly, his music has a message. Futuristic has suffered from his own trauma. He shares his story in one of his most recent videos, “Music Saved My Life.”

¬† ¬† ¬†He talks about his struggles with suicidal thoughts and depression. These happen to be the same issues I’ve dealt with, and process with children on a daily basis who are also experiencing¬†the same struggles. It’s apparent¬†Futuristic has mastered his practice of coping skills. In fact he’s made a career out of it, and his movement W.T.F ( we’re the future) continues to speak to the masses. I know most of you have never heard of him, but he’s an artist who’s real. He’s true to himself and his passion for life. With¬†music so contagious, you can’t help but become a fan. ¬†¬†
